Free assistance with criminal and administrative law

De Strafrechtswinkel Amsterdam is an organisation that provides (free) assistance with criminal and administrative law cases. These matters are between the government and citizens (or businesses).

You are welcome to visit our walk-in consultation hours, held every  monday from 6:30 pm till 8:30 pm at Nieuwe Achtergracht 164 in Amsterdam.

What do we do?

Stichting Strafrechtswinkel Amsterdam offers free assistance in criminal and administrative law.

We can help you with matters such as criminal orders (strafbeschikkingen), traffic fines, CBR-measures (CBR-maatregelen) and municipal fines. For a more detailed overview of our services, please click on the "What do we do" button.

We do not handle civil disputes (problems between individuals or businesses). For these, you can contact one of the other legal aid centres of the

Free Legal Advice Centre or het Juridisch Loket.

Who are we?

Since 2010, Stichting Strafrechtswinkel Amsterdam has been the first legal aid clinic in the Netherlands specializing in criminal and administartive law.

Motivated and enthousiastic law students work at the Strafrechtswinkel Amsterdam. They assist you voluntarily. Therefore, the advice and assistence provided is completely free of charge.

The Board

Partners

Unfortunately, de Strafrechtswinkel Amsterdam cannot handle all matters. For example, if you are suspected of a serious crime, you will need a lawyer. We work together with Stroobach & Dijkers Advocaten.  They are specialized in criminal law. We can refer you to them during our consultation hours.

We also collaborate with the University of Amsterdam. We are part of the Free Legal Advice Centre in the Law Hub of the University of Amsterdam, a partnership between various legal clinics.

Are you interested in a (professional) partnership with our foundation? Please contact us!
